Bernd Krauß earned his Diplom (MA) in Applied Cultural Science and Practical Aesthetics from the University of Hildesheim in 1996. Recent exhibitions include his participation in Bomassan by Konsthall C and Gaudiopolis at GfZK, Leipzig, the solo show Post-Solar at Shimmer/Rotterdam and Leif PG Tensta at Tensta Konsthall (all in 2018); the exhibition BKMAXXX at Peach Rotterdam, BALLOON ME! at Pracownia Portretu in Łódź, Poland and PPT (=Profane Pilgrim Tour) for Kunstverein Hildesheim. Recent solo exhibitions include T.U.N. (alpine) at the Contemporary Art Museum as part of Gwangju Biennale, the retrospective, ‘Das ist heute möglich’, at the Koelnische Kunstverein, Cologne in 2012, and ‘We Continue BBDG’ opened at the Tensta Konsthall in Sweden in 2013. In addition to participating in and instigating numerous solo, group exhibitions and collaborative projects, Krauß produced performative work since 1999 together with the collaborative Theater Societät  and has presented them at Whitechapel Gallery, Performa 2009, the Stockholm Festival of Music and Arts. He is represented in 40 Jahre Deutsche Videokunst that the Goethe Institute has created 2004 in collaboration with major German museums and has produced video work for ARTE-TV Germany (2011). He has been the recipient of a number of grants and residencies, including at Bard College, NY; IASPIS, Stockholm; Künstlerhäuser Worpswede & Balmoral and CIAP Vassiviere/France.

 

Krauß is editor-in-chief of his daily publication Der Riecher (http://riecher.blogspot.nl/) since 1999.
